We are pleased to announce the launch of our new peer-reviewed open access journal titled Journal of Obesity and Chronic Diseases (JOCD) dedicated to the studies of causes, pathophysiology, economic impact, genetic and molecular basis of obesity and chronic disorders in both children and adults.
The main areas of journal focus will be on studies that help in understanding the biology, genetics, epidemiology, pathogenesis and prevention, management and treatment methods. Obesity is now recognized as one of the most important public health problems facing the world today. Children and adolescents who are obese are likely to be obese as adults and are therefore more at risk for adult health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, osteoarthritis and some cancers.
The journal welcomes original research articles, reviews, short communications, clinical and basic science studies, articles describing novel techniques as well as articles discussing policies, psychological or socioeconomic aspects and health system influences related to obesity and the related chronic diseases.
In view of the recent advances in obesity research, we promise short turnaround time for peer-review process. A manuscript will receive initial review comments and editorial decision within few weeks. Our goal is to publish accepted manuscripts within 6-8 weeks of initial submission.
We take great pleasure in inviting you to contribute your work to our journal. With your support, JOCD will become a world class scientific journal and an invaluable resource for researchers, clinicians, health care professionals in obesity as well as broad scientific community.
